Then we donвІ t need to remind you about the kind of power these two phones are packing under the hood and, if that powered were to be channeled properly for instance in a game for a prolonged period of time, you would also experience considerable drops in battery. Not to mention that both phones are running on LTE networks which makes video streaming or other media the main focus of users and once again the battery is being put under pressure.
And finally, there is the battery factor which is just about as important as any of the above. What good is it a phone if you have to plug it in every 3 hours? The battery on the Nexus Prime is surprisingly resilient. Consider that these phones have huge AMOLED screens and extremely powerful processor. While the movies, the games and pictures look outstanding on the two phones, there is a single inherit limitation: displaying the color white. That demand puts one heck of a strain on the battery. Since people navigate online quite a lot from their phones, white is an unavoidable necessity and unfortunately you will see a faster drop in battery.
The display is probably one, if not the most important part of any touchscreen display. You can have all the power in the world and it would be useless if the phone does not respond to your touch properly. Here both phones are identical, except for a small factor. Both phones have 4.65 inch screens; they both support a resolution of 1280 x 720 with a surface of 316ppi. The small but crucial difference that tilts the balance in the favor of the S2 HD LTE is the fact that the Google Nexus Prime was not equipped with Gorilla Glass protection, instead it went for the Fortified Glass. But looking overall, both displays are absolutely stunning.
The camera is another important factor, unfortunately for the Google Nexus Prime, the Samsung Galaxy S2 HD LTE once again has the upper hand. The Nexus comes with a 5MP camera while the S2 HD has a much bigger 8MP camera. If in the beginning the Nexus Prime had the upper hand due to the newer OS, now both have ICS and therefore the Galaxy S2 HD takes back what is his. With the new OS, Google brought some major upgrades to the camera as well, the ability to take Panorama pictures being only one of them.
Since we cannot set them apart software-wise, letвІ s turn to the hardware department. Now the Samsung Galaxy S2 HD LTE certainly has the upper hand in processing power due to its massive 1.5 GHz dual core Snapdragon processor combined with the Adreno 220 GPU. On the other hand the Google Nexus Prime was equipped with a 1.2 GHz dual core ARM Cortex A9 and supplied with a Power VRSGX 540 GPU. While the Samsung Galaxy S2 HD LTE is about 20% faster, donвІ t make the mistake in thinking that the Google Nexus Prime is slow. Actually itвІ s far from it. No matter what phone you get, you wonвІ t be experiencing any lag any time soon. ItвІ s just that the Galaxy 2 HD has the upper hand.
Since Android released their ICS upgrade, there has been a maddening amount of requests for most Android enthusiasts. So naturally the Samsung Galaxy S2 HD LTE and the Google Nexus Prime were among the first phones that received the upgrade (first was the Nexus of course). Fortunately the two phones are also compatible with the newest release launched by Android: 4.1 codenamed Jelly Bean. While the versions 2.3.4 and beyond were stable and such, the difference between 2.3.4 and 4.0 or 4.1 are humongous. Google went back to the basis and has revamped the millions of code lines in order to basically create a new OS. They left no line unturned and therefore we see the difference beginning with fluidity and animations and ending with resizing widgets and considerably improving multitasking. Naturally both phones behave beautifully with the new OS installed.
The Samsung Galaxy S2 HD LTE came a few months after Samsung had released their Galaxy S2. This new and improved version came with specs that were a bit more than a match for the Google Nexus Prime. While both phones brought technology to a totally different level, weвІ re here to establish the best of them. We shall take into consideration factors such as software, hardware, shape, design and naturally, display.
When the Google Nexus Prime was launched, it was considered by many (and advertised by Google) as one of the best, if not the best Android based phone at the time. While they praised and pranced around it, they had a contender which was both extremely serious and devastatingly powerful. While created by the very same company that developed the Google Nexus Prime, the Samsung Galaxy S2 HD LTE came with the necessary tools to actually kill the Nexus Prime. ВP
